The Institute for Home Visiting Workforce Development (Workforce Institute) examined workforce dynamics within the home visiting field. It was one of four focal areas examined; others included workforce data, compensation, and preparation. The workforce dynamics focal area examined five interrelated topics critical to building, supporting, and retaining a qualified workforce: recruitment, career advancement, workplace environment, well-being, and retention.
This report presents findings from a narrative literature review of 47 publications, engagement with more than 700 professionals and administrators, and an environmental scan of 31 existing resources to identify pressing workforce challenges and opportunities for improvement.
